Living in Naples and Italy
When it comes to moving to one of Italy’s cities and regions you will find there is not bad choice but rather some that will be more practical for you and your family then others. For those who are busy business people a remote area in the south would be a bad idea while other areas such as Tuscany will be too expensive for the average person.
Italy’s two main cities include Rome and Milan. There are also areas that are dedicated to the best of Italy including northeastern central regions of Veneto and Emilia-Romagna, northwestern areas of Piedmont and Liguria, the center of Tuscany, Umbria, and Le Marche, as well as the three regions from the south that includes Campania, Puglia, and Sicily.
The south areas may seem foreign to residents of Italy but it holds something familiar for Americans. This area of Italy is where the world came when mass migration cleared out rural towns at the beginning of the 20th century. For the most part it seems as though little has changed since these times including the hospitality that is legendary. Family values are as strong as ever and have kept old traditions alive.
In terms of economy things haven’t improved much in areas such as Campania, Puglia, and Sicily. They haven’t been able to keep up with the rest of Italy. There have been actions to clean up organized crime. It doesn’t seem as if the southerners are in much of a hurry to gain fortunes if it means altering their way of life.
